The main objective of this research was to determine the relation between meaningful learning and students’ level of participation in discussion groups into The Professional School of International Business Administration in María Auxiliadora University in San Juan de Lurigancho district, 2016. The investigation level was descriptive, the applicative type was considered, and the correlational method was used. The universe included 380 students. The population included 180 students and the sample was composed of 120 students who were selected by the use of The Quota Sampling Method that is included into The Non probability Sampling. A Questionnaire was used as a research instrument in order to measure two variables. Twelve questions were considered to measure the meaningful learning, and sixteen questions were taken into consideration to measure the students’ level of participation in discussion groups. The research instrument was assessed according to the process of Validation by experts. For the test of hypothesis, it was used the statistical test of correlation of Rho of Spearman because variables were qualitative and it was considered the test of significance with a level of error of 0.01. In conclusion, meaningful learning was positively related to the level of participation in discussion groups by students into the Professional School of International Business Administration in María Auxiliadora University. Finally, in relation to the specific hypotheses, it was verified that meaningful learning is positively related to the indicators included into the level of participation in discussion groups: interaction with the group, freedom in expression, time planning and the management of the subject.
