The research was aimed at determining the relationship between the level of knowledge and preventive measures on diarrhoeal diseases in mothers of children under 5 years, Posta La Quebrada-Cañete 2018. Quantitative type research, non-experimental design and descriptive method. The sample was 123 mothers. As a technique, the survey was used and as an instrument, the questionnaire evaluated by expert judgement and with a reliability of the alpha of Crombach of 0805 and 0869. The results show that 53.66% present an average level of knowledge about diarrhoeal diseases, 26.02% a high level and 20.33% a low level. Likewise 48.78% present a regular level in the preventive measures, 27.64% a good level and 23.58% a bad level. It was concluded that there is a direct relationship between the level of knowledge and preventive measures on diarrhoeal diseases. The director of Posta La Quebrada was recommended to organize campaigns in the locality on diarrhoeal diseases with the support of nursing personnel in this way to be able to educate the population in the preventive measures that need to be taken to avoid these diseases so harmful to children under 5 years of age.
