The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between quality of life and coping strategies for patients with chronic renal insufficiency in hemodialysis treatment, María Auxiliadora Hospital, Lima, 2018. Research of quantitative type, descriptive and non-experimental correlational design, was worked with a sample of 113 patients. As a technique the survey was used and as an instrument the questionnaire, validated by expert judgement and with a reliability of alpha of Crombach of 0845 and 887. The results show that 44.25%, have a regular quality of life and 38.94% a regular level of coping strategies. It was concluded that there is a direct and positive relationship between quality of life and coping strategies, according to the Rho Spearman of 0703. The head of nursing was recommended to organize workshops where the patient was instructed with chronic renal failure and his family; On the disease, preventive measures of complications, activities or actions that can or cannot be carried out as food and other activities of his life, strengthening his knowledge, allowing to establish strategies of coping more Effective on the challenges of your life as a patient with IRC.
