Miniplacas en ortodoncia

Abstract

Existen numerosos sistemas de anclaje en ortodoncia en la actualidad, uno de ellos es el sistema temporal de anclaje óseo, donde se utilizan miniimplantes conocidos en el ámbito ortodóntico como minitornillos, y las famosas miniplacas. Estos dispositivos pueden ser utilizados para desafiar la tercera ley de Newton, donde él afirma que para toda acción existe una reacción, y con el uso de estos sistemas de anclaje podríamos evitar movimientos dentarios indeseados. Al igual que los minitornillos y otros sistemas de anclaje, las miniplacas presentan algunas características, ventajas, desventajas, indicaciones y contraindicaciones que vamos a mencionar de manera más profunda en el desarrollo del tema.

There are numerous anchorage systems currently in orthodontics, one of them is the temporary system of bone anchor, where mini-implants are known in the orthodontic field such as mini screws, and miniplates. These devices can be used to challenge Newton's third law, where he claims that for all action there is a reaction, and with the use of these anchoring systems we could avoid unwanted dental movements. Like mini screws and other anchor systems, miniplates have some features, advantages, disadvantages, indications and contraindications that we are going to mention deeper in the development of the subject.
