The objective of this research was to determine the level of emotional dependence of students at a private university in Metropolitan Lima. According to the purpose of the research, it presents a descriptive quantitative approach with a non-experimental - transversal design. The population originated from 223 students of both sexes, belonging to the semester of 2018 - II, between men and women, being it a Census Type sample. The instrument used, the inventory of emotional dependence (IDE), prepared by Jesus Aiquipa. The results obtained show that the level of emotional dependence (61.7%), shown by the evaluated ones, was "Normal or Low"; On the other hand, regarding the Dimensions evaluated, in the Fear of Rupture Dimension (51.7%) the evaluated are in the "Normal or Low" category; in the Dimension Fear and intolerance to loneliness (58.3%) the evaluated are in the category "Normal or Low"; in the priority dimension of the couple (58.3%) the evaluated are in the category "Normal or Low"; in the dimension Need for Access to Couples (43.3%) the evaluated are in the category "Normal or Low"; in the Dimension Desires of Exclusivity (63.3%) the evaluated are in the category "Normal or Low"; in the Subordination and Submission Dimension (43.3%) the evaluated are in the "Normal or Low" category; Finally, in the Control and Domain Desires dimension (71.7%) the evaluated are in the "Normal or Low" category.
