The present study is of descriptive type and non-experimental design, aimed to determine the predominant academic procrastination dimension in pre-university students of a private educational institution of the Cercado de Lima district of Metropolitan Lima. The instrument used was the Academic Procrastination Scale of Busko (1998), which was adapted to Perú by Álvarez (2010) and validated in Metropolitan Lima by Domínguez (2014). The sample consisted of students of both sexes, whose ages fluctuate between 16 and 17 years. A census-type sampling was used. The results obtained showed that the predominant dimension was the Academic self-regulation dimension, where 91% was categorized as "Low"; likewise, as regards the postponement dimension of activities, 81% of the sample is categorized as "High". From this exposed reality, a proposal of intervention has been elaborated, with the objective of reversing those factors linked to procrastination that could put at risk the students' learning.
