The present investigation proposed as the general objective to determine the relationship between the practice of complementary feeding and the presence of iron deficiency anemia in children from 6 to 36 months. The study was descriptive-correlational, cross-sectional, non-experimental design, whose population was 93 and sample 74. To collect the information, a complementary feeding practice questionnaire was used, whose reliability with Crombach's alpha was 0, 930 and in the presence of Iron-deficiency anemia was a record of the data of children from 6 to 36 months. The results were: practice of complementary feeding, adequate 44 (59.5%), in its practical dimensions of adequate hygiene in 43 (58.1%), preparation and adequate assistance in 50 (67, 6%) and in relation to the presence of anemia, moderate anemia 28 (37.8%). Conclusion: there is a negative, inverse relationship between the practice of complementary feeding and the presence of anemia in children from 6 to 36 months, health post, El Misti, Chaupimarca, Pasco. It is recommended that the Head of the hospital, in coordination with the doctors and nurses, implement nutrition programs for the knowledge of a balanced diet to avoid anemia.
