A successful endodontic treatment is based on the correct execution of the protocols, one of the most important steps is the determination of the working length, because it gives information about the extension that our treatment should have. Currently there are several methods to determine the length of work, so the objective of this research is to evaluate "in vitro" the difference in the determination of the working length obtained with conventional periapical radiography, foraminal electronic locator and Cone Beam computed tomography. To this goal, 50 lower premolar teeth extracted for therapeutic purposes were selected, which went through preparatory processes for the application of the methodology and divided into 4 groups, with a total of 200 measurements being made. Group 1: ClinicalControl (n = 50), Group 2: Radiographic Method (n = 50), Group 3: Electronic Method (n = 50), Group 4: Tomographic Method (n = 50). The data obtained were placed on the data collection form, which were processed, analyzed and tabulated using the statistical software Stata in version 14. As a result of this investigation, no statistically significant differences were found, however, it was observed that group 3 (foraminal electronic locator), obtained the highest index of numerical precision in the measurements. Regarding Group 2 (Radiographic) it showed numerical data less accurate than the other methods of apical detection. Group 4 (Tomographic) showed reliable data when determining the working length due to the sensitivity of the analysis. In this investigation we can conclude that there is no statistically significant difference in the analysis used in the determination of the working length, this means that it is acceptable to use any of the three apical detection methods used in this study.
