The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between stressors and the academic performance of university students in the fifth year of Stomatology of Federico Villarreal National University. The type of research was explanatory research design is not experimental, correlational type of cutting, transversal, retrospective The population was represented by the fifth year students of Dentistry of the Federico Villarreal National University of the year 2014 composed of 87 participants. The instruments used to measure the variables academic stress is the Academic Stress Inventory, validated by three experts in the field and Academic Performance variables annual averages are obtained from computer center of the faculty. A pilot applied to measure the validity and reliability of the instruments then subjected to Factorial analysis resulting valid with a Cronbach's alpha 0.93 excellent reliability. In the results, the students presented 58.6% of academic stress, moderate, 24.1% with a weak stress and 17.2% strong stress. Regarding the variable academic achievement, 48.3% of the students are in the regular category, 46,0% is located with a good academic performance, and only 5.7% of students with bad level. Stressors and reactions of the organism are significantly associated with the academic performance of the students of dentistry according to Pearson Chi2.
