Abstract How to incorporate this wisdom in schools and thereby strengthen the cultural identity of school children, was the question that inspired the research with the aim of making ancestral wisdom visible. We set out to develop a learning project on how to obtain natural dyes using plants. As future primary school teachers in Intercultural Bilingual Education, we feel identified and motivated to develop a work that contributes to the visibility of ancestral knowledge. We reviewed authors that helped us to obtain more information on the proposed topic to nurture our work. We carried out this work in the district of Chinchaypujio, with boys and girls in fourth grade; we used the qualitative methodological approach, because it allows us to work in a subjective way. Our methodological design is Action Research because we seek from the application of the learning project on dyes, to observe the reactions, interest and concerns of children. After working with the school and the community, we believe that the children are able to have significant experiences. There is a likelihood of integrating cultural knowledge and ancestral knowledge into the National Curriculum with the intention of making them visible in schools. Keywords: Cultural Strengthening, local knowledge, natural dyes, art, visibility and learning project.
