Abstract This study refers to the bibliographic documentation on the topic of healing herbs that can be approached as a proposal for the Intercultural Bilingual Education modality. This topic in different Andean educational institutions of primary schools in Peru allows to carry out educational processes that integrate activities proposed in the curriculum, based on the use of native medicinal plants and local knowledge in the context of a community. The objective is to elaborate a pedagogical proposal to value and incorporate the knowledge of wise men and women about the management of healing herbs in a rural elementary school of the fourth level of the Ccarhuayo Educational Institution, Quispicanchi, Cusco. Since much of the local knowledge is not integrated in most intercultural schools, this approach arises to contribute to the valuation of healing plants and affirm the hierarchy of these community knowledge, by the students of the school No. 50494 of Ccarhuayo, for a better life. Thus, interviews were conducted with community members in the area, and testimonies on the use of medicinal plants were also collected. The important thing about the result of this study is the valuation of the teaching and management of medicinal plants. In this way, the recognition of the wisdom of the grandparents is still evidence of the use of these plants as a living culture in their daily life. It is important to consider this proposal in the educational processes for the different levels of schooling of girls and boys, fundamentally, to value and incorporate this knowledge in the learning experiences, especially for the 4 grade of primary school in the district of Ccarhuayo. From the teacher's perspective, it is necessary to strengthen this knowledge and knowledge about the management of these herbal medicines. The valuation and integration of this cultural practice is essential to provide better educational processes for children, as well as to maintain continuity in the use of plants in a meaningful way in community coexistence and other environments. Keywords: Interculturality, native plants, Andean medicine, Andean knowledge and children's learning.
