This bibliographic research work brings together the scientific production that was published internationally from 2006 to 2020 on the different communication strategies in each Pan American Game. The objective was to establish an updated state of the question on the most relevant research in this area. For this, a systematic bibliographic selection methodology was applied in three search engines using descriptors related to the research objective. Thus, a document bank consisting of 30 titles was obtained, which served as the basis for the scientific evidence of the review. The results obtained indicate that each Pan American Game had an evolution in the communication field, and these were manifested through different strategies and the application of various tools, both advertising and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). Likewise, it was identified what these communication strategies were and how they were adapted in the Pan American Games. This study concludes that there is limited information on the communication strategies used in the Pan American Games because there has been no research on each of them. Therefore, this is the first work that gathers and collects data on the Pan American Games published in indexed journals. Likewise, the analyzed information shows the evolutionary process of communication strategies applied in large-scale sporting events to contribute new knowledge to the community of researchers in the area of Communication Sciences.
