This research work deals with the application of the risk identification and evaluation technique in the operational process of the textile company in the city of Arequipa, called the HAZOP method (HAZARD AND OPERABILITY). For the development of the method, the help and formation of a group of professionals called “the HAZOPteam” is needed, in which it was made up of experts on the company ́s operating process. To carry out the identification of operational risks within the company,the work team has already established the following procedure: Establishment and delimitation of the gathering and twisting process through flowcharts, were the nodes were identified which would become the operations of the operational process, the definition of the parameters according to the nature of the node began to be discussed, adapting them according to the type of performance that each one has, and in addition to defining the qualification of their performance through guide words. Finally, a risk rating can be used to recognize the nodes with the highest level of risk and then proceed to a set of corrective actions to reduce their level of risk. The objective of the HAZOPmethod seeks to improve safety in the operating process of the company in thewell-being of workers and the environment.
