The present investigation entitled “Optimization the Roger Holmberg methodof drilling and blasting by”, developed under the objective of designing the drilling mesh using the Holmberg model to optimize blasting operations in the future pit, this leads to a Descriptive, Analytical and Applicative research; With an experimental research design ofa pure experiment cut and hypothetical deductive method, whose place of study is the Star Gold Mining Unit of Chaparra S.A. located in the Department of Arequipa, where the population is made up of the new Porvenir, Santa Teresa y Cecilia Tajeos, developed in andesite and granodiorite rock with an average density of 2.65 MT / m3, of which it takes a non-probabilistic sampling Finally, the results are reached where a drill overload was made with Burden 0.45m and said drilling mesh was improved, thus reaching the conclusion "The design of a 2mx10m section mesh using the Holmberg model increased the effective drilling length at 1.71 meters and thus reducing the number of holes considerably, thus reducing drilling and blasting costs from $ 11.39 / MT to $ 6.68 / MT and increasing production by 11.13 MT / shot where this with a Cut-off Law ( 2.45 g Au / MT.) This comes out in gold production at an increase of 28.04 g Au / shot”
