In recent years, the market for school information systems has grown significantly, in line with the main trends in the environment. Nevertheless, in the search for greater profitability, the main competitors in the market would have concentrated their growth in the high segment of the market, leaving the largest segment unattended: the middle segment. In order to estimate the attractiveness of addressing this segment, the present business plan establishes the characteristics that would have a company oriented to the optimal attention of such segment, including aspects such as the prioritization of the most basic functionalities during the development of the system, the emphasis on simplicity and ease of use, the concentration of strategic tasks in the management of the company in order to reduce labor costs and the focus on operational efficiency that will allow the company to grow rapidly delivering a service with the quality needed to retain its customers for as long as possible. As a result, the expected scenario would require an investment of 367 thousand soles, obtaining a profitability of 59% on the invested capital and recovering it after 6 years of commercial operation. However, in order to obtain this profitability, it is essential that the company keep within the objective range both the average sale price and the retention rate of its customers, since the simultaneous reduction of both parameters would increase the initial capital necessary to sustain the rate of growth, in turn reducing profits and even more the rate of return over the capital invested.
