Non-traditional exports have been a boom in the Peruvian economy, which has been based on quality, authenticity, diversity of products and services during the study period 2004 to 2019 of this research. This study determines the various characteristics that influence the export of handmade carpets to the US market classified in the national subheading (SPN) 5805000000 during the study period in which there were modifications in the market, new government policies in foreign trade and new export strategies. The purpose of this study is to contribute to society and future endeavors. Maintaining a strong and stable economy requires companies willing to adapt to change, be resilient and capable of growth. The research analyzes five relevant business characteristics such as: a) the types of companies, b) the status of the companies according to their RUC in the SUNAT, c) the age of the companies, d) the means of transport and e)the channels of customs control, additionally the study examines the US market. This research uses the descriptive correlational method that analyzes the database extracted from SUNAT, uses information from the customs declaration of goods (DAM) of the national subheading (SPN), 5805000000, for the period 2004 to 2019. With the use of statistical tools and the analysis of the standard deviation, it is concluded that the five most relevant business characteristics do influence the level of exports of artisan carpets to the US market. It is determined that these characteristics should be taken into account before and during the export process, in search of greater efficiency and investigating new strategies that help optimize their use and should be born in the interest of each entrepreneur for their future exports of artisan tapestries thus achieving benefits, growth and opportunities for new markets abroad
