The company where this research is developed is dedicated to the production and marketing of products for a social program in Peru called Qali Warma, which distributes food to school children in public institutions. The main objective is to design an improvement in the company's inventory management to meet the standards established in the contract with the National School Food Program Qali Warma (PNAE) in Lambayeque, Peru.The research develops 3 objectives, the first one being the diagnosis of the company's inventory management using indicators. It was found that the company does not comply with 35% of the standards established by the program, in addition to generating cost overruns due to breakage and overstocking, a deficient analysis of suppliers and apoor warehouse distribution.In this context, the second objective makes the proposal for the application of inventory management models and warehouse redesign, as well as to analyze compliance with all the standards required by the program. In the third objective, an economic and financial analysis of the proposals elaborated is performed, finding that there is a Net Present Value (NPV) of S/ 381,812.05, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 267% and benefit-cost of S/. 2.7.It is concluded that the proposals described are economically viable.
