The present study aims to describe the collaborative work and the teaching role in the Financial Audit course of the professional accounting school of a Private University of Lima in the 2020 Cycle -I. The participants were 20 students (11 men, 9 women) and a teacher. The methodology has a qualitative style. The scope is descriptive andthe design phenomenological. In summary, the students consider that the teacher does not motivate them, does not promote dialogue, does not help them to reflect, is authoritarian, and also that the methodology used in the sessions is not dynamic. Likewise, the teacher indicates that although he provides in his class sessions all the tools that students need to develop collaborative work, he considers that stage that they are studying, it is not appropriate for them to worry much about motivating them, because, they look for resources or ideas to generate their own learning, establish dialogue, exchange opinions and make the corresponding reflections; Therefore, it is concluded that the results showed that in the financial audit course the students perceive that a correct collaborative work is not carried out and that the teacher does not adequately fulfill their role.
