The present research work has as a general objective to describe how Design Thinking and creativity are developed in the students of the Design Workshop III course in the Interior Design career in a technical higher school of Lima, in the period 2018- II. The participants were 15 young people from a Design Workshop room III, an observation sheet, a survey, interviews were applied asking them about the importance of each step of the proposed tool and then we applied a rubric to their design work. The methodology used for this research work develops a qualitative approach, with descriptive scope and addresses a phenomenological design. The results that were obtained from this research work are based on the variables worked, on the one hand, the Design Thinking, which showed with the observation guide and surveys of students and teachers that greater identification with the problem is needed of the client and for creativity with the rubric and surveys carried out, a decrease in the ability to achieve novelty in the proposals presented was detected. The conclusions were also generated independently, on the one hand, to focus on Design Thinking as an efficient tool to promote not only a more orderly design process but also to ensure that creativity is present from the beginning with its very well structured phases that order and establish a model procedure to follow to achieve efficient and creative results in the proposals of the students, through the necessary commitment to train the teacher, establishing roles and patterns of how to develop and enhance creative qualities in the student with the use of This tool, until showing the participants clearly, which is what they are going to evaluate in their proposals to focus the effort to meet these requirements, the management of a rubric frequently allows students to establish from the beginning the qualities that are required to develop a creative product.
