This work has been proposed Management controls critical hazards in the area of open pit mine based on the Kaizen methodology: Congata mining company. In order to collect data it has been used Annex 13 DS 055-2010-EM, with which it has been re vie data on statistics in addition to the calculations frequency rates, severity and accident. For the analysis they have been used the methodology and formulas recommended by the DS 055- 2010-EM regulation of occupational safety and health and other complementary activities in mining. To know the processes of mining, it has made the process diagram and description of processes, activities and tasks. For the interpretation of the results was used the method of the lower and upper limits, Poisson confidence limit of 90%; with which analyzed the behavior of controls graphical interpretation of the results. Once identified and analyzed the problem, the proposal is needed for continuous improvement; the extent of continuous improvement must be aligned with the hierarchy of controls established by the legal norm, which in this case is the administrative control embodied in the proposed Management controls critical hazards in the area of open pit mine, Kaizen based methodology.
