In this work, the application of shotcrete technology to support tunnels to replace steel arches will be analyzed by means of a simulation, in order to reduce costs and have a good maintenance management of tunnel support. The optimization of support installation costs and the maintenance of the tunnel support will be determined, through the application of shotcrete technology to replace steel arches. For the present investigation, the quantitative investigation method will be used, which is the most suitable for obtaining reliable results. Likewise, this research is preexperimental, the simulation of an unproven variable will be presented in order to detail how it affects sustainability. The application of shotcrete in development tunnels is 38% cheaper than steel arches and maintenance of shotcrete is 14% cheaper than steel arches. As the shotcrete (fiber, anchor bolts, electrowelded mesh, reinforced concrete) is provided, this support is more effective and durable, which will have less maintenance incidence.
