In the civil construction work entitled “Improvement of the educational service in the Carlos Febres educational institution”, approximately 90% of the accidents and incidents were reported due to personal carelessness, negative attitudes and the traditional thinking that the compliment of the rules and obligations depends on the supervisor, also they believe that someone always has to be looking after them. Thus arises the need to implement a behavior-based security methodology, the PARE program. In this context, we implement the PARE program as a behavior-based safety management tool, leading to a change in safety behavior. Consequently, we propose as the main problem: Is it possible to improve safe behavior and the prevention of occupational risks, analyzing and implementing a safety methodology based on behavior in the civil construction work "Carlos Febres"? From which the implementation emerged as a response. For the development of this work of professional sufficiency, we decided to carry out a descriptive level study with a non-experimental design, considering as a sample all the personnel of the civil construction work "Carlos Febres". In fact, the activities were planned in that order. First of all, we trained the observers in the handling of the instrument "PARE observation cards" provided by the security team of said work. Then, an initial observation was made over the course of two months in different weeks. At the end, the workers participated in the talks, training and reinforcement of safe behaviors. Observation and training were carried out for the implementation in six different work situations or tasks: order and cleaning, excavations and trenches, safe work analysis, use of ladders, use of hand tools and personal protectiveequipment. As part of the implementation, after four months, the final comparison and observation was made, the data of which were compared and analyzed as a result of the professional sufficiency report. To sum up, we can affirm that the safety management tool according to the PARE methodology, based on the improvement of safe behavior in the civil construction work "Carlos Febres", turned out to be effective for the improvement of safe behavior and reduction of work accidents, modifying their behavior in the face of risky situations at work.
