The overall objective of this research was to determine the relationship between motivation and performance of the teachers in the Diploma program of the International Baccalaureate Organization in a private school in Lima. The design was correlational and the type of sampling was not intentional probabilistic. The 50 teachers who participated in the study, teach one of the subjects of the OBI Diploma program, which were evaluated using the Motivation for Work Scale (R-MAWS) and the Teacher Performance Questionnaire. The results indicated a low level of motivation and an average level of teacher performance. Additionally, weak and direct relationships were found between motivation and certain components of teacher performance: responsibility and performance of functions, commitment and interest in the learner, interpersonal relationships, emotionality and the teaching performance as a whole. It is concluded that there is a positive relationship between motivation and teaching performance. The implications of the results have been discussed.
