The purpose of this research was to establish the relationship between work stress and perceived teacher self-efficacy in teachers at a private university in Lima. The design used was non-experimental, transversal, correlational, not causal. The sample was 148 teachers selected by non-probabilistic sampling for convenience. The SISCO-ELE Inventory for the study of work stress in educators and the Teacher Self-efficacy Scale were used as instruments. Among the main results, it was found that there is an indirect, statistically significant, and moderate magnitude relationship between work stress and perceived teacher self-efficacy (rs =. -.53**, r2 = .28). It is concluded that there is a statistically significant indirect relationship, of moderate magnitude, between work stress and self-efficacy in teachers at a private university in Lima. The implications of the results have been discussed.
