Abstract: La presente investigación buscó establecer la relación entre la motivación laboral y el compromiso organizacional en los docentes de tres instituciones educativas públicas. El diseño del estudio fue no experimental de corte transversal y correlacional no causal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 165 docentes de tres instituciones educativas públicas. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la Escala de Motivación M-L de Steers y Braunstein y la Escala de Compromiso Organizacional –OCQ de Meyer y Allen. Se encontró que, los puntajes medio respecto a la motivación laboral y compromiso organizacional, presentaban una tendencia por debajo del promedio, concluyéndose que existía una relación significativa entre la motivación laboral y el compromiso organizacional en los docentes de las tres instituciones educativas públicas; es decir, a mayor motivación laboral existirá mayor compromiso organizacional. El valor de Rho = 0.469, indicó que la relación fue directa y baja.
The present research sought to establish the relationship between work motivation and organizational commitment in the teachers of three public educational institutions. The study design was non-experimental cross-sectional and correlational. The sample consisted of 165 teachers from three public educational institutions. The average scores on work motivation and organizational commitment were below average and it was concluded that there is a significant relationship between work motivation and organizational commitment in the teachers of three public educational institutions; In other words, the higher the work motivation, the greater the organizational commitment.
