Study on cognitive strategies of writing and production of narrative texts in Alternative Basic Education. Its general objective was to determine if there is a relationship between the cognitive strategies of writing and the production of narrative texts, in first-year students, of the advanced cycle, of four public basic education centers in Lima. His research design was transectional correlational. Criterial intentional census sampling was used, in total 109 participants. The Written Production Test (TWPT) and the Evaluation Scale of cognitive strategies towards writing were applied. On Cognitive Strategies and Text Production, Rho de Spearman was found 0,396 (p> 0,05), so there is no correlation; on Cognitive Strategies, an average of 27,89 was found; on Production of narrative texts, an average of 7,88 was found and, on the relationship between the Cognitive Strategies of Planning, Writing and Review with the Production of texts, Rho de Spearman 0,970 was found; 0,106 and 0,705 (p> 0,05) respectively, with which there is no correlation either. It is concluded that between cognitive strategies of writing and production of narrative texts there is no correlation. The cognitive strategies of writing present a medium-low performance level and the production of low level narrative texts.
