The purpose of this document is to apply the pavement condition index (PCI) method to determine the pavement condition index of the Cartavio Chiquitoy highway. A detailed study of the one kilometer road has been carried out to identify existing faults and quantify road conditions. The PCI road surface condition index method is applied in accordance with the standards and parameters of the PCI ASTM D6433 evaluation method. The method aims to understand the current state of the structure and the rolling surface through field work and by using measurement instruments and failure guidelines for the asphalt pavement after failure investigation, recorded the fault found in the log sheet of the sample unit and determined its severity, and made the final calculation of the route of the highway through PCI and carried out the work in the cabinet. As a result, the weighted PCI obtained is equal to 32, and it can be concluded that the Cartavio-Chiquitoy road has poor pavement. This condition of the road surface is due to lack of maintenance and the road has exceeded its useful life. Most breakdowns are superficial breakdowns that affect normal vehicle traffic, making it necessary to reduce the speed perceived by the driver and passengers. Finally, although this is not the objective of this article, based on the faults discovered, some repairs are suggested to restore the road to its original condition.
