This is a research project that aims to prepare the Traffic Study for the Design of the Pavement Structure of César Vallejo Avenue in the District of Trujillo, Trujillo Province. This avenue is an important collector axis that connects América Oeste Avenue with Pesqueda Avenue. The road has a total length of approximately 1.3 km, between América Avenue and Pesqueda Avenue, and as observed by the researchers there is a significant deterioration, so it is necessary to evaluate its conservation status in a technical manner and decide its Maintenance or rehabilitation Economic growth coupled with population growth, has led to a growth in the Trujillo automotive park, both public and private transport and heavy vehicles, in some cases not originally planned in the road designs, which has deteriorated the roads. Also, Trujillo in 2017 experienced a weather phenomenon known as Niño Costero that caused rainfall and water runoff that affected urban roads in general and in particular of this sector of the City that is Cesar Vallejo Avenue in Trujillo. The Collection Tracks are those that are part of the Urban Road System, and allow circulation to and from arterial roads. Urban roads are part of the development of the country's cities and are in charge of the Municipal Governments. With the improvement and rehabilitation of this road we will have better roads to move to the city center and work centers, and we will achieve the desired development of the inhabitants. Traffic studies are an essential preliminary step to be able to design the structural pavement package later to meet the specific demand. For the present investigation, the traffic study was carried out following the methodology recommended by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, with the count of the number of vehicles of different types previously defined, which pass at a checkpoint for three days of the week as minimum. The traffic count data will allow the current Annual Average Daily Vehicle Index to be determined and subsequently the projected 10-year, required for the structural design of the pavement. As a result, it was determined that César Vallejo Avenue currently supports 21.000 vehicles per day and is expected to reach 30,198vehicles per day by 2030.
