The present work of sufficiency consists in carrying out the design of a suspension bridge, having as a unit of study the locality of yuracyacu, belonging to the district of Pías, province of Pataz, department of La Libertad. Locality that does not have a suspension bridge structure that can cross the river from one side to the other, to be able to sell its crops, nor that other localities can constantly transit to cultivate their land had a meandering river in the rainy season It does not allow crossing as it increases its flow with clearing caused by the mining areas of Retamas, Llacuabamba and Parcoy. For this research, the type of non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive research was used. This research was carried out following the parameters of the manual of bridges and Norms of the National Building Regulations such as: E.030 Earthquake Resistant Design, E.050 Soils and Foundations and E.060 Reinforced Concrete. To achieve the design, basic engineering studies were carried out such as: topographic study resulting in a rugged topography, a soil study, where two calicatas were made, the calicata - 01 was obtained as poorly graded gravel results with a Qadm = 2.32 kg / cm2 and the calicata - 02 is an igneous rock with a Qadm. = 4.7 kg / cm2, the hydrological study was also done for a 20-year return period, a result was reached. Qmax. = 315.38 m3 / sg. At the end of the investigation, it was concluded that when the design was executed, the quality of life of the inhabitants of the different communities, since they are provided with a safe and passable area.
