The present research is correlational descriptiva cross-sectional aims to determine the biological, social and cultural factors related to the level of selfcare for the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the mature adult in the AA. HH. Esperanza Baja, Chimbote 2014. Based on the model of Dorothea Orem self-care. The sample population consisted of 102 mature adults, 35-60 years of age. For data collection was used as instruments, the questionnaire of biological, socio-economic aspect, perceived social support test and test on diabetes mellitus. Processing and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 20. Therefore it was concluded: That there is a higher rate of selfregulating (51.0%). In biological factors: age and sex saved significant relationship with the level of self-care (p <0.05) and family history bear no significant relationship (p>0.05). In the social, socioeconomic level saves significant relationship with the level of self-care (p <0.05) and perceived social support, has no significant relationship (p> 0.05). Cultural factor, the level of information there is a significant relationship with the level of self-care (p <0.05) for the prevention of diabetes mellitus in the mature adult; and beliefs about diabetes mellitus there is a significant relationship with the level of regulating self-care (p <0.05) in the mature adult.
