Two methodologies were used in the research: the qualitative method and the quantitative method - Dynamic Analysis with the ETABS v17.0.1 program. These two methodologies allow an evaluation of structural seismic vulnerability, this concept is described in detail in Chapter III. To collect information from the Educational Center we inspected using the visual inspection form, this quick visual inspection form helped us identify; 1) to the educational center; 2) the characteristics of the building and 3) inspection criteria regarding construction, architecture, structures, safety measures. The Italian method was also used to determine the seismic vulnerability index, through 11 parameters, once the vulnerability index was determined, the degree of seismic vulnerability of the Lord of Miracles Educational Institution could be determined. From the analysis of the badly configured model, the following characteristics have been found: 1) lack of lateral stiffness which, in the event of an earthquake, would cause short-column failures and / or damage to the partition walls; 2) very elongated plants, with long / wide ratios greater than four; which contradicts the hypothesis of rigid diaphragm; 3) use of handmade clay bricks with resistance to understanding, f’b of 31 kg / cm2, according to Aguirre (2006), less than 50 kg / cm2 which is the minimum stipulated limit, for handmade bricks, by R.N.E. NTE -070; 4) use of reinforced concrete with resistance to understanding (f’c) estimated of 293.44 kg / cm2 by sclerometer test and 5) lack of an adequate architectural approach to circulation and access. Finally, the conclusions of this research and some recommendations are described in chapter V.
