The present investigation was carried out in the locality of Las Lomas, Huanchaco, where the inhabitants of that zone are involved, the objective is to determine the influence of caustic soda in the stabilization of soils of said zone, norms of the AASHTO and SUCS, This research project is important and that technology benefits society and the country. This research work seeks a new solution to the use of caustic soda improving the physical and mechanical properties of the soil. Caustic soda is a caustic hydroxide used in industry has a high PH so it is suitable to stabilize the soil. This research is experimental, pure experimental, was carried out with 8500 cm3 of soil of the locality through the technique of observation with the observation guide instrument and using the method of statistical inference that was already made in the references of the population from sample data. With an addition of 10% caustic soda resulting in the following: liquid limit = 57.15% which is the sum of the plastic limit = 47.60% and the plasticity index = 9.56%, where the maximum dry density is 1.59 gr / cm3 and the optimum humidity is of 20.50% and by means of the CBR test it gives us 11.48%. It was determined with the addition of caustic soda of 0%, 8%, 10% and 12% of the content of the maximum demand the sample with caustic soda to 10% with a 57.15. The sample with 0% heat has a liquid limit of 67.57, concluding that the soil adopted the best behavior at that percentage becoming less viscous.
