This research, entitled: “Influence of the percentage of brick waste as fine aggregate on absorption, porosity and compressive strength of concrete made from cement type MS“, is intended to provide information of the results of a experimental study, the influence of recycled brick, as alternatives to improve the physical and mechanical properties of concrete. The characterization tests of the raw material were carried out, the mix design of 180 kg/cm2 according to the ACI method, a total of 35 cylindrical test pieces based on the ASTM C-31 standard with different percentages of recycled brick as a substitute for the fine aggregate (0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%), which were used for the tests of resistance to compression, absorption and porosity. Concluding that the standard specimens met the minimum designed strength of 180 kg/cm2 , thereafter the strength was slightly increased until reaching its maximum value of 221.6 kg/cm2 , when the concrete had 20% replacement of recycled brick by fine aggregate. For the same dosage, the minimum values of porosity (6.6%) and absorption (4.7%) were presented. Finally concluding that the 20% replacement of recycled brick by aggregate was the best dosage based on the values obtained. Key words: absoption, porosity, recycled aggregate
