The purpose of the present degree project aims to assess the environmental performance of the company "Cartons S. A. C. ", a manufacturer of corrugated cardboard boxes, following the requirement 4.3.1 of ISO 14001:2004, during the period 2013, following the methodology developed by Maribel Perez (2013) called "identification and valuation of environmental aspects" with self-adaptive, which consists of 4 stages. In the first stage were identified 13 processes, 30 sub processes and 40 activities, which gave as a result of 376 environmental aspects. In the second stage, given the importance of the cause-effect relation between the aspect and environmental impact, we know that if we act on the cause (aspect) we can influence on the effect (impact) reducing or mitigating this, the following environmental impacts were identified; noise pollution, water pollution, air pollution, soil pollution, reduced natural resources and reduced lifetime of the landfill. In the third stage is proceeded with the valuation of the environmental aspects which was realized with the following variables; severity of the impact, frequency, legal requirement, duration, recoverability and control, which determined that the significant environmental aspects were generation of non-hazardous waste, paper consumption, emission of dust, consumption of electrical energy, effluent generation and water consumption. Finally, in the fourth stage to the significant environmental aspects are raised a total of 36 operational controls.
