Due to the current problem of water pollution by industries of different sectors, the general objective of this thesis is to determine the influence of a coagulation and flocculation system on the removal of total suspended solids and total phosphorus from dairy effluents, to improve quality. of the treated water from the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of a Dairy Industry Company (EIL) in the district of Moche, La Libertad, subject to the requirements of the Permissible Limits of IFC/BM General Environmental Guidelines. For this, a jar test was carried out with 3 different dosages of flocculant (1% cationic polymer) and coagulant (40% ferric chloride), dosage 3 (D3) being optimal with 1.42mL of flocculant and 0.12mL of coagulant, for the removal of the parameters Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Total Phosphorus (total P). This dosage was added directly to the treatment of the WWTP and was monitored for 6 days, with an external laboratory, to verify compliance with the regulations, thus obtaining a maximum removal percentage of 100% for Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and 96.26%. for Total Phosphorus (total P), concluding compliance with the regulations.
