The present work describes the execution of the technical file “Improvement of the Irrigation System of the El Camino Park, of the La Ensenada Urbanization - District of La Molina Lima.“ The project sought to optimize the use of water resources, reducing the consumption of potable water used to irrigate the green areas of El Camino Park. The main activities of this project were: 1) validation of the technical file, 2) installation of a sprinkler irrigation system, and 3) training of irrigation system operators. The technical approach and agronomic design considered the soil type in the district area, plant species (grass and tree species), meteorological data, the land's topography, and the type of emitter to use. Considering the established parameters, we decided to use 66 ½“ inch rotors (pressure = 2.0 bars, range = 8.20 m, model 3500) and 3 ½“ inch sprinklers (range = 1.8 m) VAN 6 (type of nozzle) that will allow irrigating a total area of 0.306 hectares. The hydraulic design considered a maximum working speed of 1.50 m/s and a load loss of 20% of the working pressure of the emitter as a maximum, in each of the four sectors, to achieve a preestablished irrigation uniformity efficiency of 75%. The budgetary nature of the project (participatory budget) led to the inclusion of additional activities such as improving the lighting system, installing a bio-gym, constructing a chapel, and implementing benches, wooden pergolas, and garbage cans. Therefore, the execution of this project fully repowered the park, improving the existing urban and landscape infrastructure, and maintaining as much as possible the majority of existing shrubs and trees.
