The objective of this research work is to carry out an analysis based on the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology to increase the availability of air conditioning equipment in airports, which consisted of studying the failures of the equipment of the air conditioning system of an airport, analyzing the indicators: the average time between failures (MTBF), the average failure repair time (MTIR) and the availability of air conditioning equipment with data that was recorded in the failure reporting history at the airport. The problem of this research work indicates that failures of the air conditioning system in airports affect availability and also affect other factors, such as high temperature in the departure lounges and greater energy consumption. Other factors such as the outside temperature that is increasing due to climate change and the greater demand of passengers at airports lead to energy consumption of the air conditioning system, such as 40-50% of the entire Jorge Chávez lnternational Airport. This work with respect to the approach is of an applied type because the RCM methodology was used as a reference, with respect to the scope it is explanatory because the methodology: Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) was used. The research design is experimental because the RCM-based maintenance plan was applied since January 2023 on the TE-RTU-03 Rooftop equipment.
