The methodology used for the development of this study includes an applied type of research, based on the current Peruvian energy matrix, evaluating this and its variation considering an electrical interconnection with our neighboring country of Chile. Considering the current energy development of our country, we have that our current energy matrix as of 2020 amounted to 846,333 TJ, composed of 63.5% for hydrocarbons, 20.5% for electricity, 11.4% for Firewood, bosta and yareta, 2.8% for mineral coal and derivatives, 1.6% to bagasse and charcoal and 0.2% to solar energy; Knowing these values, the alternative of migrating from the most polluting energies to our environment for less polluting energies is presented, according to agreements and decisions adopted by our country in the Andean community (CAN). For this, an electrical interconnection between Peru and Chile through a high voltage transmission line represents a viable alternative for our country, and would positively influence the Peruvian energy matrix, achieving the reduction of polluting energies and contributing to the use of less polluting energies, in addition to advancing at the same time in Andean energy integration. The viability of high-voltage electrical interconnection with Chile is feasible through the interconnection between our electrical substations located in Tacna (Peru) and Arica (Chile), through a high-voltage electrical line with HVDC technology that allows commercial energy exchange. electric. This study is considered a contribution to the development of the Peruvian energy market, allowing the variation of our energy matrix, through the electrical interconnection with Chile, enabling the development of both countries, migrating from the consumption of polluting energy to the use of cleaner energy.
