In the present research, models are calibrated to determine the generation of service station trips in metropolitan cities; these results are necessary for urban planning, transport planning and road impact studies. Field data are obtained through manual volumetric traffic counts inside the service stations and on the roads adjacent to them, with a study sample size of six service stations, located in the city of Lima, in periods of twelve hours a day on working days of the week. With the field data obtained, the trip generation rates were calculated based on the variables: land area, fuel supply positions, traffic on the adjacent road and number of employees; then mathematical models based on linear and logarithmic regression equations were calibrated. Based on the available literature, the rates and models proposed by the Institute of Transportation Engineers were evaluated.
