The objective of this research work is to increase the availability of the low-grade ore grinding area through the application of the maintenance methodology focused on reliability. The type of research is quantitative, since the variable under study is obtained by evaluating performance indicators of failure and repair times. The study data is of the documented type, since reports, intervention data recorded in the maintenance management software, meeting minutes, and the manufacturer's operation and maintenance manual are used. Through the application of the methodology, it is determined that the most critical equipment is the wet screen, the functions of the equipment are described, all possible failures are determined and the criticality is analyzed through the impact of the consequences on production, quality, safety, environment that are a fundamental part of the company, the various maintenance plans that complement the area plans were obtained, and the average times of failure, repair, scheduled and real hours were evaluated, it was appreciated that the average availability of the various lines before the application with an average value of 79.42% and after the application of maintenance focused on reliability with a value of 85.52%, showing an increase in availability.
