The objective of this quantitative research work was to design a 25 t/h dissolving tank to reduce the oxidizing solution (SO) preparation time. In the development of the investigation, the phenomena that occur in the production of SO were pointed out, as well as the variables and correlations considered in the design of an SO dissolver tank. SO is a substance produced in explosives manufacturing plants for civil use, as a preliminary process for the production of emulsions, whether these are sensitized or as an oxidizing agent, both products widely used in the mining sector. This SO is made from the solution of ammonium nitrate in water; Due to the fact that during this process there is an endothermic reaction (temperature drop) due to the contact of the ammonium nitrate salt with water, the supply of heat is required to maintain temperature control and solubility during the process. dissolution and comply with the quality control parameters of the SO. The preparation of this substance (SO) is carried out in equipment called dissolver tanks, an element that, due to various factors, determines the productivity of the plant. Through this investigation, the factors or variables that influence the SO production time were determined, so it was concluded that these interrelated factors or variables are important to make modifications or a new design of an SO dissolver tank.
