This study is focused on the availability of the Kooper ball mill, which is used in the mine for production processes. The goal is to propose an online detection and monitoring system based on vibrational analysis to enhance the availability of the 16,5 x 23 Kooper ball mill in a mining company. The research approach is quantitative, the level is descriptive and correlational, and the design is experimental, of a pre-experimental type where situations were evaluated through pre and post-test trials of the proposal. The results, as reflected in representative graphs in Pareto, Jack Knife, and inferential diagrams, showed a percentage variation of 78,67% in MTBF with average data of 36.38 to 65 h, a percentage variation of 64,2% in MTTR with average data of 1,34 to 0,17 h, and a percentage variation of 14,08% in availability with average data of 86.39 to 98.55%. It is concluded that the implementation of the detection and monitoring system influences the improvement of the copper ball mill availability, reducing maintenance costs with a savings of US $17,590,500 and an increase in plant production.
