Mining activity is one of the main contributions to the economy in Peru, being one of the main exporters of minerals worldwide. For the extraction, the support of earth moving equipment is needed, these equipment work in severe weather conditions due to the geographical location of the main mining deposits. Low temperatures continue to be one of the main problems for cold starting combustion engines that do not have electronic control, this affects unscheduled stop times, delaying the production of mineral extraction processes. In the present sufficiency work, it is based on the design of a pre-start system for equipment that works in mining deposits such as the model WD900-3 wheeled tractor for low temperature conditions. The design is based on a system made with a programmable logic control (PLC) that when activated will provide an efficient start of the equipment at temperatures below 5°C, reducing delay times and improving its reliability.
