In this thesis, the economic technical study is developed to use part of the superheated steam in the drying air preheating processes of the Spin Flash Dryer and Spray Dryer dryers. Said superheated steam is extracted before entering the second stage of a Siemens model SST-110 turbine in a manganese sulfate production plant. Currently, all superheated steam is transformed to the turbine to generate electrical energy. However, in the plant there are two processes with high potential to use steam and preheat the drying air of the Spin Flash Dryer and Spray Dryer equipment, such preheating of the air will reduce the consumption of GLP in the burners, having a considerable impact on savings economic. In previous studies we have had the specialized report “Energy optimization of the steam thermal plant of the Ilo 01 thermal power plant in Enersur“ which shows us the benefits of superheated steam to be used entirely in a turbine and perform mechanical work, in addition This steam has to be transported through correctly dimensioned and selected pipes to increase the efficiency of the process. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system, in this test the current GLP consumptions in the Spin Flash Dryer and Spray Dryer dryers are calculated. Next, future GLP consumptions are calculated by implementing the preheating system in both dryers. Both current and future consumption are subtracted respectively to determine the net amount of fuel saved, we take this value to monetary units and we compare it with the amount of electrical energy in monetary terms that are no longer generated when extracting part of the superheated steam from the turbine Once the amounts of the GLP saved amount and the amount of electricity stopped being generated have been obtained, these are subtracted to determine the net savings in economic terms. Following this, the TIR and VAN calculations are performed to calculate the economic feasibility of the investment project of the proposed system. The results of this study showed that GLP fuel savings are $ 183,611.43 per year, while the amount of electricity that is no longer generated is $ 63,673.16 per year, also, when making the difference to determine the net savings resulting annual of $ 119,938.43. This amount represents a considerable amount. Taking into account that the investment project of the system is $ 450,000.00, the results of the economic analysis for the VAN was $ 97,369.06, for the TIR of 18.6% and the period of return on investment (PRI) is 3.75 years.
