The present study makes use of several classifications, among the most important we have the GSI classification of Marinos y Hoek, (2000) and the RMR classification of Bieniawski, (1976), which were used for the stability analysis and the classification of altered rock masses, contrasting and relating the various results, complementing each other due to the fact that despite being there are some similar parameters that are not taken into account between one classification and another, also with the objective of seeing to what extent they converge looking for the balance between profitability and stability of the slopes, performing the stability analysis, calculating the safety factor and finally monitoring with all possible analysis and monitoring tools and minimizing the uncertainties of the study. It is not possible to define a general rule or methodology to analyze altered rock masses because the experience of various researchers in the stability of rock masses considers that the operating conditions and the design of the pit play an important role at the time of the geotechnical evaluation of the rock mass. However, some engineering estimates for the case of altered rock masses cannot be representative, so it is necessary to adapt and carry out all possible methods of geomechanical classification, monitoring and stability analysis; In this way, adequate control will be carried out. For the present study, the safety factors obtained in the stability analysis for a pseudo-static condition was values less than 1, which in theory indicates that if a seismic movement occurs after the mining of the slope, it would cause a land slide, however, carrled out the mining because the probability that the seismic movement occurred during the 5 days that the slope was exposed was low, in addition it was not a final slope that would be exposed for a long time, because it was confined in less than 5 days taking advantage of the mine closure plan, reaching the objective of safely extracting the mineral that was going to be lost by the mine closure plan mentioned above.
