This thesis studied the effect of using recycled fine aggregate (artificial aggregate obtained from demolitions that is transformed to obtain particles of a size similar to that of the sand particles) in the proportions of 10%, 25%, 50% and 100 % in medium to high strength concrete. The w/c ratios of 0.50, 0.45, and 0.40 were used to achieve target strength. A comparison was made between the compressive, tensile and flexural strengths obtained from the mix variants (which contain fine recycled aggregate) with respect to the strengths of the standard mixes (which only contain natural aggregates) of each w/c ratio. The behavior of the variation of the compressive strength at 28 days in mixtures with replacement percentages of 50% and 100% of recycled fine aggregate by natural fine aggregate was also analyzed. Other mixture variants with superplasticizer additive were included in these mixtures. The objective of this was to see if mixtures with a high content of recycled fine aggregate can be correctly analyzed with Abrams' Law. Finally, the cost of the mixes was analyzed, seeking to recommend a replacement percentage of recycled fine aggregate for natural fine aggregate that generates non-significant variations in costs and compressive strength at 28 days with respect to the standard mixes. It was a quantitative experimental type research, descriptive level, experimental design and quantitative approach. 12 tests were carried out on aggregates, 40 tests on concrete in the fresh state and 426 tests on concrete in the hardened state. It was concluded that: The recycled fine aggregate had more fine particles than the natural fine aggregate, although the TM and TMN values obtained for both fine aggregates were the same. In addition, the absorption and moisture content values obtained for the recycled fine aggregate were almost 4 times those obtained for the natural fine aggregate. The higher the recycled fine aggregate content in the mix, the higher the slump and air content values were obtained; while the unit weight and the setting times (initial and final) decreased. The higher the content of recycled fine aggregate, the resistances decreased. However, these decreases were not significant for mixes with up to 25% recycled fine aggregate. Mixtures with large amounts of recycled fine aggregate (50% and 100% replacement percentages), whether or not they contain superplasticizer additive, complied with Abrams Law. Since the compressive strengths at 28 days varied inversely proportional to the w/c ratio. Costs have decreased little. However, the use of the recycled aggregate and superplasticizer additive generated a good margin of savings, at the same time that it significantly increased the compressive strength at 28 days.
