This research report was carried out with the purpose of observing the influence that occurs in high strength concrete when the amount of aggregates (coarse sand and crushed stone) is varied. With the purpose of observing the changes in the resistance that the concrete suffers under these modifications, this research report is elaborated, using aggregates from the Carapongo quarry, with type I cement and using superplasticizing water-reducing admixture. For this purpose, the design of the standard mix was developed with the maximum compactness method for each of the w/c ratios of 0.25, 0.30 and 0.35. Once in its rigid state, the samples were tested for periods of 7, 14 and 28 days, comparing each of these variations with its standard design for each w/c ratio. Tests such as axial compression and traction by diametral compression, which are mostly used in the construction industry. The results obtained were evaluated through the analysis of variance method, whose statistical hypothesis was stated for its null hypothesis, “the variation of fine and coarse aggregate does not modify the concrete produced with the standard design“ and for its alternate hypothesis “the variation of the percentage of fine and coarse aggregate does modify the concrete produced with the standard design“. Finally, the analysis carried out based on the results will be shown, drawing specific conclusions from the research and giving recommendations to follow.
