This Professional Sufficiency Work proposes to develop an analysis of the devices used for handling Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) used in domestic kitchens. In the same order of ideas, the investigation reveals that the gas leak is the fourth type of emergency reported mainly to the General Corps of Volunteer Firefighters of Peru, with the LPG cylinder Valve-Regulator System being the place where this problem occurs most frequently. Through technical evaluations and laboratory tests of the stop valves of the 10 kg LPG cylinders that exist on the market, this research paper indicates that the 35 mm Fisher valve represents a danger to users because its design and dimensioning do not comply with current technical specifications, which could cause gas leaks. In this sense, it would represent a big problem since 71% of the population uses this type of valve. Therefore, it looks like it is necessary to replace these valves with 20 mm Premium-type valves that are safer and more efficient. Additionally, the Professional Sufficiency Work also performs an analysis of the regulations that indicate the replacement of the type of valve, which at the same time would imply the change of the regulator. Therefore, this paper proposes a strategy for replacing the existing stop valves and safety kit implementation, which consists of the regulator, hose, clamps and installation guide. The purpose of this work is to establish the necessary mechanisms to safeguard the safety of the population.
