This professional sufficiency work called “Elaboration of costs and budgets for water and sanitation projects in native communities of the rural jungle“ aims to expose, analyze and compare the costs of the types of sanitation systems from four technical files carried out for the National Rural Sanitation Program of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation in Lima–Peru, and propose some procedures to solve the most common problems that arise in the elaboration of said costs and budgets. In this work of professional sufficiency, four projects corresponding to different native Peruvian communities will be exposed, which are: 1) The towns of Betania, La Esperanza, Victoria Nueva and San Juan de Río Soritor with 3,022 inhabitants in 857 homes, 2) The Chipe town center with 897 inhabitants in 231 homes, 3) The Numpatkaim native community with 549 inhabitants in 134 houses, 4) The Nuevo Belén native community with 380 inhabitants in 94 homes. The existing drinking water and sewerage system in each of these communities has been presenting problems in the provision of the service such as: water contamination and inadequate treatment in the elimination of excreta and sewage, causing the presence of infectious foci and generating a frequent incidence of gastrointestinal and infectious diseases, for which the improvement and expansion of the drinking water and sewerage infrastructure is proposed, taking into account the following regulations: − RNE OS Standards (OS.010-OS.100), − Technical Design Standard: Technological Options for Sanitation Systems in Rural Areas RM N. º 192-2018, and − General Environmental Law (ECA - LMP) Law No. 28611-2005. The scope of the projects for the different communities is detailed below: 1) For the towns of Betania, La Esperanza, Victoria Nueva and San Juan de Río Soritor Its drinking water system contemplates the location of a catchment type lateral intake, conduction line, sedimentation tank, air passes, drinking water treatment plant, storage booth, reservoir, adduction line, distribution networks, air valves, purge valves, control valves and home connections. The sanitation system includes the construction of sewage networks, mailboxes, home connections, UBS, anaerobic reactors, wetlands, a biodigester and a wastewater treatment plant. The Project Budget has a referential value of S/. 34’948,808.69 as of October 2021, with a work execution period of 300 calendar days. 2) For the Chipe town center Its drinking water system contemplates the location of a barrage–type catchment, conduction line, sedimentation tank, air passes, drinking water treatment plant, storage booth, reservoir, adduction line, distribution networks, air valves, purge valves, control valves and home connections. The sanitation system includes the construction of the UBS, a gray water disposal system and home connections. The project budget has as a referential value S/. 6’729,517.66 as of January 2019, with a work execution period of 180 calendar days. 3) For the Numpatkaim Native Community Its drinking water system contemplates the location of a barrage type intake, conduction line, sedimentation tank, air passes, pressure break chamber, drinking water treatment plant, storage booth, reservoir, adduction line, distribution networks and domiciliary connections. The sanitation system includes the construction of the UBS, biodigester, percolation grounds and home connections. The project budget has as a referential value S/. 4’394,974.25 as of March 2019, with a work execution period of 180 calendar days. 4) For the Nuevo Belén native community Its drinking water system contemplates the location of a barrage–type catchment, conduction line, settler, air passes, drinking water treatment plant, storage booth, reservoir, adduction line, distribution networks and home connections. The sanitation system includes the construction of the UBS, a gray water disposal system, percolation ditches, and home connections. The project budget has as a referential value S/. 2’399,756.99 as of May 2019, with a work execution period of 150 calendar days. It has been possible to optimize the costs of the project, sectorizing and choosing the appropriate components for the potable water and sewage system, in addition to considering the existing resources in the area for the execution of the project.
