The present research work was motivated by a risk management issue, the main objective is to reduce the concentrations of the levels of polychlorinated biphenyls to values lower than 50 ppm, which may be present in dielectric oils; Polychlorinated biphenyls (hereinafter PCB), according to the latest research work, it was determined that they are carcinogenic as a threat to health and the environment. Knowing and identifying the LMP (maximum permissible limits) of the PCBs in the used oils, it is possible to propose the treatment of the chemical to improve the good performance, To know and evaluate in each point (location) of the samples those that exceed 50 ppm. Dielectric oils from contaminated electrical transformers and capacitors; were treated, through the destruction of PCBs, with the method of chemical dechlorination. The instruments executed for this type of investigation were in the relationship of the risk and environmental management system for PCBs, giving an assessment of the LMP, with the Clor-N-Oil 50 PCB detector kits, obtaining a discard to perform the treatment of those that exceeded the LMP. Being a non-experimental investigation, describing the environmental management of used dielectric fluids (oils). Samples that are taken in the transformer purge collection area are mentioned. Random samples were obtained with positive results, and it is considered variables such as; Temperature, volume, concentration, time and reaction rate; concentrations to 1 ppm. To achieve the main objective, a series of reviews of the existing bibliography on this topic as well as various technologies and alternatives of chemical treatment to restrict the formation of polychlorinated biphenyls has been evaluated and made, and it has been determined that the method of chemical dechlorination treatment, for this research work we are for this case we must investigate what is the potential risk against humans and the environment.
